María María Acha-Kutscher is a visual artist born in Lima, Perú (1968) and is currently based in Madrid, Spain. She co-directs with Tomás Ruiz-Rivas the Antimuseo.
Her work centers on the women, their story, the struggles for emancipation and equality, and the cultural construction of femininity. Using multiple modes of expression such as drawing, photography and archive images, Acha-Kutscher produces long research pieces dealing with gender discrimination. Putting the patriarchal system under the microscope, her work becomes not only an instrument for political struggle but also a testament to the concerns and demands of today’s feminist movements.

María María Acha-Kutscher es una artista nacida en Lima, Perú (1968) que actualmente vive en Madrid, España. Co-dirije con Tomás Ruiz-Rivas el Antimuseo.
El eje principal de su trabajo son las mujeres: su historia, las luchas por la emancipación y la igualdad y la construcción cultural de la feminidad. Utiliza múltiples modos de expresión como el dibujo, la fotografía e imágenes de archivo, para producir largas investigaciones que abordan la discriminación de género. Con el sistema patriarcal en el punto de mira, su obra se convierte en un instrumento de lucha política pero también en un testimonio de las preocupaciones y demandas de los movimientos feministas actuales.
